I’ve been testing many different methods of getting my ads, websites, etc. listed on the first page of Google very fast! After a lot of trial and error it’s actually really easy to get your ads and websites listed in the first page of Google. Now of course you can’t expect to get on the first page for very competitive keyword phrases like “web hosting”, but longer phrases like “fast web hosting providers” would be something you could get in the 1st page fairly easily.

What are the best affiliate programs to join? There are a dozen or so good companies that you can typically sign up for free and get started promoting different programs in just a few days. Some affiliate programs you will be able to start advertising right away like sites such as Clickbank.com. Other programs such as Commission Junction and Azoogle you will have to wait a few days or even weeks until they approve you.

Clickbank.com is the easiest way to get started in promoting other products because you can get your account setup instantly and advertise any of their thousands of info products online. Clickbank only lists information products so they won’t have any physical or tangible items like clothing, electronics, etc. Commission Junction is an affiliate program that if you are interested in promoting physical goods would be a better fit for you. ShareASale is also another site that has many physical good companies that you can promote their products.

Azoogle is more a pay per lead or acquisition type program. This means that you can earn money for referring someone to sign up for a particular newsletter or anything else they submit their information to such as name, email, address, etc. On average some companies will pay you $1-3 per lead that you refer to their company.

Clickbank on the other hand pays you a percentage up to 75% of the sale that is made from your referral. There are many different types affiliate programs out there, so it depends on which direction you want to start promoting since there are many varieties.

What is Internet Marketing? The title sums up what many people are doing online today to make extra money or a full time doing Internet Marketing. Basically to make money online, you have to market something on the Internet. Marketing can come in a variety of techniques such as advertising on search engine sites like Google, Yahoo, Excite, MSN, etc. There are two types of search engine advertising. One is pay per click traffic which means that someone would put up a small sponsored ad on Google or Yahoo for instance and would pay the search engine each time someone clicked on your ad. The higher you bid, the higher up your ad position will be. The other type is natural or organic search engine traffic which requires a good deal of search engine optimization techniques to your website. All the traffic is free and depending on how good your site is with content and keywords that describe your site, will determine how high in the rankings you will get.

So what do Internet Marketers sell or market? It can be anything from selling electronics online to creating a blog or forum to generate advertising revenue. There are so many different ways to market and make money online, that the Internet is very wide open for many new people to get in on the action and starting online marketing themselves. Affiliate marketing is one of the most popular and fastest growing techniques in Internet Marketing. It’s growing so fast because almost anyone can get started in affiliate marketing without having a website or any knowledge of creating their own product. Basically with affiliate marketing you drive traffic and advertise other services or companies products in return for a commission. For example, if you told a friend about NetFlix and they signed up, you could get a referral commission from NetFlix. So many people will setup ads or blogs/forums about NetFlix and drive traffic to the site and if the user signs up, they will get a commission. It’s very easy because with driving traffic to NetFlix you don’t have to answer any questions, handle any orders, customer service, etc. Netflix will take care of everything for you and if they sign up, you get the commission. This is just one example of affiliate marketing, but you can see how powerful and easy it can be for anyone to get started.

If you run an online business than most likely 100% of your business and sales will be online because you don’t have a store front to have walk in customers to accept cash, checks, or credit cards in person. With an online business you don’t get that physical presence that will allow for walk in traffic. An online business requires a great effort in developing good online marketing campaigns to gain presence in the marketplace whatever your service may be.

There are many forms of online marketing that an online business can do to gain exposure on the Internet. If a business is brand new, they may be able to submit a press release in regards to launching their new online business. Major search engines love press release sites because they are always updated and have new content added daily. Submitting your online site to major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. manually is another good method to get your business name out there if someone does a search on your company. These should be the first two things you do once you create your online business as they are relatively easy and don’t cost anything.
